201MC Professional Experience

Promotion and social media have been our main priorities this week. Now we’re starting to feel the pressure of what we have to do!

We have social media accounts that we all have access too and are using liberally already!

Another big part of this week has been our personal statements. We’ve decided as a group to promote ourselves each week, introducing ourselves, our work and promoting the exhibition overall. This will be a great opportunity and no other group has been doing it so far. The list of the order of people is below! However, Carys sent us what she thought was appropriate. However, I’ve spent years studying graphic design and I thought we needed some alterations. The original was very plain; standard you couldn’t tell it was specifically apart of the Trace team. Some of us that could meet up on the Wednesday morning and I discussed changing the background, adding in the logo and making the typography similar to the logotype. Fortunately the group was with me and Vickie who was next gave my ideas a go and the result is amazing! I think it’s been a really good decision and I think they will all look fantastic together and it’s helped consolidate who Trace is. I’m really happy with how this has turned out and there’s been a great reception on our social media!

In our meeting we also had the decision of whether or not to make leaflets for the night. This could be a great potential because it can hold the details of each artist and where to find out more about them. However, we’re still considering not making any reminders about the night, aka not leaving any “Traces”. I’m going to make a group meeting next week and I expect everyone to attend so that we can start getting some of these final details down.
